Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Nikon D70. Some more work with slide projectors, slow exposures and rear curtain flash.

    C.S. Muncy said (17 Feb 2009):

One of the neatest things about the D70 is that, with a little jury-rigging, you can sync it up with a flash or strobe at *any* shutter speed. If you cover up all the flash sync posts except the center, "main" one, you can fire a flash at any shutter speed. If you use a PC adapter, you can fire it up to 1/3200 or faster!
