I took this photo from the front balcony of my house on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It was taken on a Canon 350D fixed to my telescope.
My dog, ( a solid little staffy ) was out on the deck sharing the love with me and walking around my feet trying to lay down either on top of my feet or right under the tripod to be as close as possible to me, but as it is a timber deck, she was constantly making everything vibrate.........It took me about 30 shots to get this one which I am pretty happy with.
The Sea Of Tranquility is the centre dark spot among the three in a row running accross the moon towards the top of the picture.
I have been absolutely fascinated since I was a kid with that big, bright thing just hanging up there above us.
