Adelie penguins on an iceberg in the Scotia Sea, between the South Orkney Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. This photo was taken in February 2007, during a three-week long photographic expedition to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. This was one of several amazing icebergs we saw during the trip. The blue stripes are areas of the iceberg where the ice is older, has more oxygen and captures more of reflected light from the sky.
