My brother's dog was killed by a truck earlier this spring. Hawkeye is one of two dogs that were dumped on my family's dead end road this summer. He and the other dog, Tex, were starving and wounded. Mom believes they were used as practice in dog fights. Tex slept in the middle of the road with Hawkeye wrapped around him. They were in need of a home and we were in need of some dogs.
