This entire series is phenominal. This photo imparticular tugs at my heart. The young child's face and expression .. and especially her posture .. all tied together with the writings .. oh I want to just jump into the photo and rescue her. Show her that life can be happy and childhood doesn't have to be dreary or sad or miserable. A most powerful and intense photo .. I have hugged Isabella more than the zillion times I usually do per day because of it. Thank you ..

Very emotional image - when you are child entrusted to the care of others, that experience is not something the child can choose or change. I agree with Peggy Sue - it makes me give my own children a little more hugs and attention when I feel helpless to help a child so far away. I try to let my children know how very lucky they are - but it's something they don't yet grasp.

The disorder of life is so apparent in this. So much sadness and uncertainty in her face.

These children deserve to have a warrior as you on their side, I fight by your shoulder anyday !......What these portrait tell me is the demanding of respect and engagement against any system (and political/economical supporting system) that treat any human like this.
