PICKLED BABY CORN
GROWING UP IN ST. LOUIS MISSOURI, MY LATE MOTHER BEING AN OLE MISSISSIPPI GIRL WHO HAD MIGRATED TO MISSOURI WHERE I WAS BORN, ALWAYS TOOK THE WHOLE FAMILY TO ANNUAL CO-OPTS. MY OLDER BROTHER AND SISTER HATED THESE OUTTING. "SO COUNTRY", THEY WOULD SAY. ANYWAY THIS JAR OF PICKLED BABY CORN TOGGLED MY MEMORIES.
In the story Living truthfully in imaginary circumstances.

Amen to this! My family is also originally from Mississippi! I can only guess, with the racism that still endures there in the "good ole boy" culture that your Mother getting the hell out could ONY have improved the quaulity of your life, Kevin. But I am glad you go back, if only in your mind, time to time. Love the light here.
