We went to the fair for the purpose of photos and food. The food sucked. The weather sucked. The people from the rival high school sucked. But this one moment when Danielle and Jacyne were riding on the ferris wheel and Kendra and I stood watching them and the people around us, was wonderful. The clouds began to get darker and the smoke cleared from the distant fireworks. The only glow was from the rides and the smiles spread ear to ear on the faces of the small children. The dizzying rides spun on as we left listening to Alanis loudly in the car.
