The title refers partly to the couple who thought they we alone in this very public place but mostly to the story I see in the surroundings. The bricks lead you to a fountain standing proudly before the U.S. and Michigan state flag yet flanking the fountain are dozens of flags from foreign countries I've never seen, possibly can't even name, and this couple has most likely never thought about. I see these flags and wonder why they are here in this park, most humans are so caught up in their private struggles that they rarely think of the rest of the world. If these flags are here to inspire a global connectivity does anyone look up or do we only think of "Our Own Little Place in the World?"

Megan Noble gave props (29 Aug 2008):
Bay City, lovely place. I have a picture of myself in front of this fountain. :-)
