This was taken in Istambul, Turkey in a place called YEREBATAN SARAYI. It is a huge cistern, which was founded by Justinianus I, a Byzantine Empire (527-565).
Usually there is nothing in that place but I happened to be there when those balls were hanged for special effect. You can't see it in the photo but there was also this magical music playing there. The most unusual place I've ever seen.
