Home Grown and Home Cooked
This is one of my favorite things about the summer. I went and picked some fresh tomatoes, okra and dug some potatoes and after a little boiling, a little steaming, a little salt, pepper and Amish butter, I sat down for a feast!

Wow - nice kitchen, Nelson. Wonderful color in those vegetables. With those knives, those stainless utensiles, and, especially, that totally awesome pepper mill, I have a hunch you can cook. Very nice view out that window too - is that your barn??? Love the windows and the firewood stacked underneath.

Nice 'retro' look on the Photograph, goes well with the home grown/cooking idea.

Oh!......I knew there was something about you that I liked. Any man that can cook with okra and tomatoes is a friend of mine. I do a MEAN! Creole style okra and tomato stew served over rice that will make you slap your Grandma !!! ;-))

This is great! Such vibrant color, and I love the fact that the scene outside the window is not blown out, which happens a lot when shooting indoors and by a window. Nice job!

A Karen refugee friend of mine from Burma makes a mean curry with okra pumpkin and Pork Belly her secret ingredients are shrimp paste and tamarind and a bit of sugar. The rest is pretty much as per any curry. Yours looks a lot healthier!

Oh US, too! We had some steamed squash with a few peppers and tomats last night - all from the garden! I will NOT even consider eating store-bought tomats anymore - taste like pink cardboard!!!
