Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?

A: Do you know?

I usually try to keep up with traffic when driving on a divided highway. But, as anyone who has ever driven a hybrid can tell you, they are made for economy - not speed. Coming home from a business trip late one night, I was already running well over the speed limit when a group of cars sped past. I tried to catch up, but it was futile. Just then, on the horizon, appeared the Cincinnati skyline. I had made it to "the cut in the hill". That should help me catch up with the pack (as any responsible speeder knows, there's safety in numbers). When the group was still pulling away as I hit 90mph, I decided to give up. But, not before taking a photo (this was a really stupid thing to do; don't try to replicate this shot). I love how the dashboard lights form trails in this shot. It really helps convey the speed.
