Lunch, Kaeseong-Style
On my tour to Kaeseong, North Korea there was a traditional lunch prepared, with North Korean beer, tofu, kimchi, some meats, veggies, mushroom stems, chicken broth, and rice.
I felt bad not eating all of it, after observing how skinny the people and kids on the streets and in the countryside around Kaeseong were. Earlier, during a hike to Korea's famous Bakyeon Waterfalls, I had some pure crystal water from a mountain spring by Gwaneumsa Temple (the plus to lack of industry and development was the untarnished nature), and later North Korean powder coffee which sent all the happy bees in a buzzing frenzy around my head (I had to beat them off with my new, hand-carved North Korean hiking stick). Later I enjoyed some a pink and yellow popsicle (flavors were questionable).
In the North Korea photo essay.
