New Democracies.
South Africa has a democracy that is constitutionally and legislatively active since 1994 but on a grass roots level, on the streets and in real lives things are still a bit segregated and people are still finding their way after years of apartheid. This photo was taken in 2006 at a party where i realised that at last after all the laws of segregation, black and white people where having a pool party together, only a few years ago it was illegal and people,family and friends would have been arrested , detained without trial and hurt . South Africa is a very young democracy but our constitution has some ground breaking rights and concepts. Nkosi sikeleli Africa, God Bless Africa. taken in Isingolweni, Kwazulu Natal. R.S.A
