A ghost town outside of Silverton, Colorado. Created in the 1880s; 3 Forks of the Animas was a very productive gold mining town with over 30 houses, a hotel, a general store and a post office. Named so for 3 mountain streams that came together at this spot, the name was shortened to Animas Fork by the post office.
