Still Life with Thanatotic Ram I (Lougheed House, Calgary, Alberta)

A camera is aimed through the viewfinder of a (d300) digital camera, which is in turn aimed at a hunting trophy in a heritage home; the film thereby captures the targeting and exposure information for the shot. This newly-begun series (in progress) explores death-fetishism as common to photography, hunting, and the designation of “heritage”, as all three embody denials of both life and the passage of time.
