Thunderstorm just North and Northeast of Altus Air Force Base on August 7th 2008. 2 C-17's had to quickly land before they were used as a lightning rod. Typically all operations on the flight line are shutdown if there's lightning within in 5 miles of the base, I'm thinking they cut it a little close this time.
Take note of the light trail in the lower left of the frame, thats one of the planes trying to land. Pretty sure they had to check there shorts after that bolt.

SPECTACULAR!! I think anyone who can capture lightning strikes is a genius. I've been trying for years with no success...yet you seem to have mastered it. :-)
