I know it's a sacrilege to photograph monarch butterflies in grayscale, however I really liked how these turned out and hopefully others will too. I recently purchased Fuji's IS-1 (UV/IR camera) and on the day these were taken I was experimenting with it. I used a Hoya R72 filter. I have different shot of the same butterfly/flower which is almost identical to this shot except it is in color IR and I will probably post it as well.

The use of B&W is quite lovely in this one. I don't think a color shot would have done the pinnacle of light any justice!
