Suspended in Time and Space
The city of Geneva (Switzerland) holds an annual “Festival of Trees and Lights” (Festival des arbres et lumières) at the end of December / beginning of January. I fell in love with one installation in particular at last year’s festival. The artist (much respect to him) had molded a series of human forms out of wire, suspended said from electrical cables or positioned them on a bridge crossing the Rhône river or on surrounding rooftops, and then highlighted all with spotlights. The overall effect was magical.
