    this is beautiful. So much like a Picasso composition from the blue period; but all his eyes are in the right place and he's not squared off. Generally speaking looking down at a child makes him look inferior. I can't visualize this work from an eye-level point of view and having the same impact.

    Great shot. My very first impressions were the same as Robert Duncans. The photos is very evocative of the Picasso painting in question. The slightly awkward pose, the tilt of the head, the hands. It is a great shot on its own merits, not because of any resemblance to a painting. Very expressive and very well done.

    Looking down adds to the spacial fracturing typical of the early Picassos before he fully entered his Cubist period. (So does the disjointed figure.) Everything works perfectly except for the color of the bench.
