These are the steps that Jefferson Davis spoke from during the civil war and the steps that Martin Luther King spoke at during the Civil Rights Movement. Montgomery really has a powerful history!

Unfortunately, it's a miserable town. When I was in elementary school, I was was racing Scott Cohen up these steps and he fell and broke his arm. So you can add that to the list of historic moments on the steps of the Alabama state capital.
