One of my all time favorite photo books is “The Man Who Shot Garbo”. It is a collection of photographs of Clarence Sinclair Bull. He was a photographer of the stars in Hollywood from the 1920’s through the 1960’s. His photographs had such a beautiful dramatic quality that was easily recognizable as his unique style. This book is filled with close to 200 gorgeous pictures and a short history of his life.
I tried to mimick his use of simple lighting and starkness into my self portrait for this theme although I used my digital camera, something that was not yet developed in his lifetime
