I was going to title this "I Told You So", because I'm sure many of you don't believe that beautiful butterflies would seek out minerals from manure.

I had never seen one of these until five years ago when this one showed up in my back yard. The dorsal view of this butterfly is unbelievable - bright red - and beautiful.

But what camouflage when folded!

Look for butterflies puddling for water in sand or moist soil, and for minerals in wet spots of urine where livestock are corraled.

Do you see the question mark?

In the Incognito photo essay.

Also in the story The Butterfly (and Moth) Cookbook.
