I got his effect by shining a torch on the stones! I had to light the hoop, then walk around and light the rear pillar. I can't remember the exact exposure length - probably a minute or two... :o)

er meant to write i love the stars. but don't you get star trails on a 5 min exposure or does it need to be longer in the 10 minute range? cheers

Yeah you probably do actually. 5 minutes was a wild guess, it maybe 1 or 2, I can't really remember to be honest!
The intensity of star trails depends also on the focal length I think. Again, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that if you use a longer lense the trails happen quicker, and with a wider lens it takes a bit longer.
