The Tiger shark is the fourth largest predatory shark in the world. However, when treated respectfully and very carefully, divers can swim among them.
Naturally curious, these fish will approach humans underwater. Tips for avoiding their mighty jaws include keeping out of their paths, wearing dark scuba gear, and using the dome of your camera housing to gently push them away.
EDIT: I took this shot in the water off the western Bahamas. This spot is known as "Tiger Beach."

I usually just stay on land to keep from their jaws, and leave shots like this to people like you. Great shot.

Willy, just pretty awesome, so it sounds like you don't swim up to them and poke them. You must also be using scuba tanks as I can't see you wanting to focus on getting oxygen up and down while you are entertaining some Tigers.

I *am* using scuba.
Here is a photo of me, taking pictures of the sharks:

Beautiful shot, Willy. I used to live in Key Largo, learned to dive, but sadly, never saw many sharks.

Wow, that once amazing shot. What type of equipment for underwater photography?
-
Willy Volk said (22 Aug 2008):
@Jorge -- The camera is a Canon Digital Rebel. I had it housed inside an Ikelite housing (http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/2dslr_350d.html).
This particular dive trip lasted for a week. During that time, I took 5000+ photos. -
