One way to save Iraq was shot on New Year's eve at a place called, appropriately, Baghdad Street,
This is where my friends and I go often to drink teh halia or ginger tea. You can read more about this place on my photo essay, One spot shooting.
For the lighting of this night photograph, I enlisted "third party help".
The graffiti was near a street junction and, while shooting, I realised that the headlights of on-coming cars, turning the corner, would light up the words "Save Iraq".
So my buddy kept watch and told me to get ready whenever a car was approaching. We waited maybe 20 minutes and tried several times before a taxi lit this up perfectly!
Shortly after this image was captured, the grafitti was painted over. Guess it was too political.
