St. Elmo is an old mining town located to the southwest of Buena Vista near Mt. Princeton. Unfortunately the area has been taken over by dirt bike riders as well as ATV enthusiasts. Nothing wrong with that, other than the fact that some of historic essence has been taken away from scenes like this with their vehicles parked all over the streets making it difficult to get a scene like this. Never did get one of the old mercantile that is still in operation here. St. Elmo went bust when silver crashed in the 1890's. Most of the buildings here are privately owned and on the national historic registry.

Good shot, glad you found a place that didn't have modern devices in view. The coloration sure adds to the aged appearence.

Neat shot, love the old buildings, brewing sky, faded colors. You captured the feel of days long past.
