This was taken in the Cathedral of Meissen Castle in what was formerly East Germany, Meissen Porcelain is the best in Europe, and pieces are found in the homes of the aristocracy, from the Queen to the Rosthchilds.

The town dates back to the 1200's, and was underwater in the 1988 floods, although the church pictured was spared as it stood high on a hill.

Faith, like photography is about divine light. Cathederals in Europe are very dark by and large, and had little option for articial lighting. I enjoy the way that the light is cast sweeping the eye upwards, beckoning the veiwed to see heaven from where they are.
