London - The Blizzard of 2009
By David Brooks
5 Feb 2009
London has experienced its heaviest snowfall for 18 years. Most capital cities would laugh in the face of this much snow - but not London. Millions of people cried off work, the creaking transport system shut down and those people who had bravely pioneered their journey into work left again by 3pm for fear of being snowed in and unable to get home.
We'll be telling our children about how we lived through the great blizzard of 2009.....

It's a rare occasion and warrants a day off to celebrate! I've been to England many times in the winter, but have only ever seen a light dusting of snow on one trip. Thanks for sharing!

nice - me and outside have fallen out this week - I've had to battle my way to work every day in the sludge and ice :o( It certainly wasn't that pretty here in Reading
