What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
Filled with tradition and an aspiration to artist, Kuantan is about 45 km away from Sungai Lembing that used to be called Eldarado of the East! World deepest single mining shaft. Southern part of Terengganu famous with songket and batik.
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
Consist of all races typical of Malaysia. There are Malays, Chinese, Indian (originate from India), Orang Asli and some Mat Salleh (European). Not so hectic as Kuala Lumpur.
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
Have been here since October 1987 while doing my last posting at the airforce base here. I was working with the airforce not as pilot but as a radar technician.
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
Its easy living and fresh air.
Do you feel that you belong there?
Yes I do feel I belongs here. Have family of my own with 2 sons.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
The most common misconception people have is this town is dead. Too quiet.
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
As I said, this is like a gateway to the eastern region and people loves to go shopping in Terengganu and Kelantan.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
Everything are within reach beside being near to the beach.
