During a weekend holiday at my aunt's house I met this elderly lady on this portrait delivering vegetables to my aunt. Her name is Thanaletchumy and she is 80years old, it sounds very ordinary until I was told she owns a jasmine flower farm and a vegetable farm which is 4kilometers from her home and she makes a walking trip to her farm at least twice a day to monitor her farm and also deliver vegetable and flowers for her clients, that is about 16kilometres of walking that she does everyday. This is where something has caught my attention to pay visit to her farm. I and my cousin decided to pay her visit to her farm and she looked very happy and energetic to show us her farming area. We reach there and I followed to her farm and there she introduces me to her employee and she told me both of them work together on the farm. She showed me variety of vegetables that she has on her farm and she grow them without using any pesticides. In the middle of her farm she showed me a small hut that was built by her worker and there she has a small desk which is used to do all some paper work to keep track her daily income. I was so amazed looking at the huge piece of land that she cultivates and I asked a small tips on how she learned farming and she told me during Japanese occupation in Malaysia during 1947 she was forced to work in the farm for the Japanese while telling me the story she suddenly she stopped with the story and began to sing a Japanese patriotic song which is required to be sang in front of the Japanese soldiers before starting work at farm and after. I asked her how she is managing to pay monthly salary for her worker since the economic situation has gone bad recently a small advice from her was if you are into business there isn't anything called profit if you are not prepared to loose and invest. Now I have placed her in my mind in an area called "Hero".
