Vietnam pt.2

This trip to Vietnam, i traveled with my mother and my younger brother. The last time my brother was there, he was about ten years of age. He was twenty on this trip, a grown young man. Most of the family there couldn't really recognize him. We had to travel on separate flights due to our school and work schedules. ive noticed in America, we tend to not have time to spend with family, but in Vietnam, there is so much time to spare. Time moves by very slow there. The main reason we were in this humid land was for my grandmothers funeral, the family gatherings weren't as great this time around, but the emotion surrounding the events made my family portraits even more powerful. I was able to see and feel the emotion of my families face. My grandmother was the glue that held our large family together. We had large gatherings for dinner at my grandmothers house. The images that lack people mean the most to me. I wandered around my grandmothers house just looking at every crack and planted flower just to feel her. Her backyard had many exotic fruit plants. I wish i could have met her sooner, i hear great stories about my grandmother. While at the funeral, many people arrived by foot, motor bikes and even by boat to pay their respects. My grandmother was a well loved individual. The emptiness of the photos speak words with me, i miss her presence and whenever i look at the photos from this trip, i feel chills. I know she is watching, she is in a better place now. Her home is still very much alive with family coming and going. Even though this trip was very saddening, it was a lesson learned, she is alive in our hearts...
