The ART of shooting Baseball...capturing the moment and freezing it forever
8 Apr 2009
It's that time of year again, the time when little boys...and girls...can slide through the mud in clean, white pants without fear of a scolding; a time when dads get mad and stomp their ball caps in the ground, and when moms spit on a paper napkin to wipe the dirt smudge off their little star's cheek before snapping a picture.
Spring is in full flux and that means baseball season is underway once again here in Shelbyville, Tennessee as proud moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and even crazy cousin Larry are filling up the bleachers to cheer their little ones on.
I, too, was once one of those fanatical fans screaming at her son to "run like the wind" as he rounded third base, sliding into home. Alas, my son is now grown and has traded in his bat and ball for $20 and the car keys on Friday. I've now taken my love of the game onto the field.
One thing I've noticed in my recent photo shoots is the enduring techniques displayed by the human body while in motion. Each player exhibits a unique style, whether at bat or on the field. Some player's demonstrate very precise and mechanical movements, while others appear graceful and relaxed. That is what I hope to express in this photo story with the selections featured below.
May they bring a smile to your lips and a warmth to your heart...enjoy!
