What city do you live in? What neighborhood?

gardner, ma
bents pond and travers pond

What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?

serene, natural, birds, fish, zen, fertile, alive.....

How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?

I have lived in gardner for 3 years, I love gardner, it sits on the back side of mt. wachusett. a state park and ski area. I grew up in the town over the mountain and was very happy to move back to the area.

What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?

the nature in my neighborhood is incredible. all year long there are different birds. there is a large marsh leading to a big pond. as the spring and summer arrive the color green is now prominent.

Do you feel that you belong there?

I am so at home here. a big brook goes through my tiny yard to the marsh and pond. my home is built above an old warehouse. all the windows look out to the brook and ponds, all you can hear is the sound of the brook. wildlife is everywhere. I look forward to walking around the neighborhood every morning before anyone is up.

What is the most common misconception about where you live?

that is doesn't have natural beauty. I have found so many beautiful things in this old mill town, the chair city.

What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?

the real name for gardner is G-VEGAS!

What aspect of your city do you secretly love?

gardner feels like a big city, however it really is very small. I have started to recognize people and everyone is very friendly. Oh and there are so many motorcycles!
