Doors: The both/and of being
By Eric M

How often do we look at a door and really recognize it's significance?
A door is both/and. Meaning it is two opposing ideas at once.
A door is inclusive, keeping those whom we care about away from others. And it is also exclusive, it keeps others out.
A door is protection from dangers great and small. It also prevents others from helping us when the dangers are on the inside of the door.
A door is a boundary, it tells others where to stop and where they can get lost.
Doors also provide mystery to otherwise simple life. Behind each door is an enigma just waiting to be solved.
A door protects things in our absence and becomes our bane when we, the owner become locked out.
Doors are everything and nothing all at once.

i wanted to start collecting doors to make a barrier wall in my basement. i constantly want to kick myself for not doing it. a wall of doors would speak volumes as to where they came from and what they represent.
