I have always wanted to shoot flowers. My barriers have been allergies, and a camera I could do it well with. For Mother's day this year I was given flowers for the very first time! Being terribly allergic to most flowers can be an inhibitor to that. Well, I did some research, and found several flowers with very low pollen that are quite lovely actually. Sunflowers, black eyed susans, orchids to name a few. Apparently, I was not alone in the research. My family bought me orchids! Sitting at my desk admiring them that night, My husband like boyfriend challenged that he didn't think I could get a decent close up shot of the blossoms.
Quickly, I did some online research to discover what I would need to capture exactly that. Then I checked my cameras capabilities, set up the first shot and SNAP! Perfect shot! I gloated. When I realized how detailed the shot was, I began 'posing' the potted plant, experimenting with it.
Since that night, I seek out other flowers, or other subjects to work this macro mojo I have found in me! I
