What city do you live in? What neighborhood?

Fort Worth, TX...I have moved around but always come back to the same area with lots of houses that are one story and about 22 years old.

What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?

Suburban, Houses that are cramped near each other. Lots and lots and lots of Diversity with different people, different ages, and different ethnicities. Busy, trains, loud, fairly new, fun...

How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?

I have lived in this area all my life (22 years) and the thing that keeps me here is the fast growing, fast paced city with lots of great stuff to do, with a cheap cost of living. The weather here varies from Tornadoes ( which I just survived my third one last week) to blizzards and droughts, which I don't mind and I find that it keeps things interesting.

What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?

My favorite thing is the fact that there is always something to do and I don't have to drive far to visit any of the great attractions...did I mention the cheap cost of living??? The worst thing about this is that crazy Texas heat and the traffic on Fridays...you can't go anywhere without running into traffic.

Do you feel that you belong there?

Yes....yes I do, I am a city boy but if it's annoying me I can get my quiet time by driving down the highway...

What is the most common misconception about where you live?

We drive cars...we don't ride horses...It's a big a$$ city with lots of confusing highways. Also we don't all have southern Texas accents ...(some of us do) but not all of us. I have been told I sound like I'm from Spain, New York, Chicago, and a couple of times I have been told that I have a Brittish accent..???

What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?

Chili's and the On the Border rest. chains started here as well as Dr. Pepper plus there actually is a cattle drive in the stockyards everyday at 4 p.m. which is one mile away from the down town area.

What aspect of your city do you secretly love?

I can drive for only 20 minutes and do anything anywhere that I want to do.

Anything else you'd like to add?

A lot of my family lives here and loves it. We hardly ever have trouble looking for jobs because it is constantly growing. It's a city that is getting bigger. Everyday I see more and more contruction areas that just appear out of nowhere. This is a huge city, and all that country Texan stuff is just straight up wrong...You would have to drive 40 miles outside to see the ranches and True cowboys...(unless you are in the stockyards) I hate it when I see T.V. over sensualize the idea of the country girl with an accent with blue eyes and blonde hair. This is an extremely diverse area with lots of segregated communities as well as ones that are diverse.
