Free summer in New York City

Summer is here again. Wow! What a blast. New York City is a fun, and exciting place to live or visit. Listen! I take advantage of all the free things offer at this time of the year. Lets start with concerts in many city parks. River To River Festival (RiverToRiverNYC.com) in Manhattan.
Governors Island is 5 minutes away from Manhattan with the ferry, and 7 minutes from Brooklyn. Yes, there is a ferry leaving from Brooklyn now to the Island (http://www.governorsislandalliance.org). The Island is gorgeous. Forts, cannons and other military apparatus are still there. Hey! The ferry is free. You can rent bicycle or take your own.
Lets take a look at Union Square. This Park is on of the busiest in the city, not the biggest. If you can sing, play an instrument, dance; I mean Break Dance, please bring your talent here. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday is Green Market day here on Union Square. It nice to get fresh fruits and vegetables. Don't forget your Free Hug.
A nice stroll from Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge bring you to DUMBO(we not talking elephant here). DUMBO, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is a neighborhood in borough of Brooklyn. It encompasses two sections; one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East River, and another which continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area.
DUMBO has many galleries, my favorite is the Safety Gallery at 111 Front Street. Every 1st Thursday of a month new exhibition is on display, but you can visit the galleries there any day for free.
Remember the 2009 NYC Photo Festival ? It took place here at DUMBO.
Enjoy the summer come to New York City.
Free Hugs, Free concerts. Free Tours.
Remember to laugh or smile every chance you get. Stay safe and healthy. ENJOY LIFE. Enjoy the summer.

I love your story, Zerina. It makes me wish I could just leave my responsibilities and spend a summer there. What great things there are to see and do...and all for free. Amazing.
