The Ben Utter Trail
By Steve Baker
5 Jul 2009
Named for George Benjamin Utter, one of the original members of the Trails Committee of the Narragansett Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club, this 3.5 mile (round-trip) trail winds along the Falls River. As the name implies, there are lots of small falls, and one larger one at the Northern end of the trail, Stepstone Falls.
A picnic lunch at Stepstone before the gentle wander back to the south is the perfect way to make sure you have time to explore the area around the falls.
Great short-ish hike for parents with kids, or grandparents without kids!
The first photo has a link to the location of Stepstone Falls in GoogleEarth.
