Escaping to Peace
By Ben Scott

Peace comes when we get away from the day to day routine, when we step away from humanity for a minute and have time alone. A moment sitting on the shores of an ocean, a lake, or river can bring serenity to life as the soft sloshing of water against the land puts you into deep thought. The water is moving patiently, never ending, always returning, constantly in motion. To sit on an unmoving piece of land and to see the motion of the water is peaceful. Life springs from the water, it moves with the water, it is the water. For this simple reason, a time to disappear from life is invaluable. No one knows where the water meets the horizon but they know peace when they think about that far away place, off in the distance. It waits.
