These images are two years old, discarded because I couldnt see them. Last night found them on a disk stored in a box with others. Pulled them out at random, listened to Mahler and began working. Experienced them newly for the first time as if they were taken by someone else. Raw and unsophisticated.
At some point in this process realized I had an ability to see and communicate on a subconscious or superconscious level, something I couldnt do, or at least didnt do two years ago. Started to think that as a practice (not to be mistaken for a technique), I can expect to take photos in present time that I wont be able to see except in the future. I do this deliberately and subconsciously: take photos today, some of which I wont "see" until tomorrow. And tomorrow might be years from now.
Not unlike automatic writing, clairvoyance or extrasensory perception. Seems to only work with certain types of images, not all of them but the ones that possess nuance: sensibility to, awareness of, or ability to express delicate shadings (as of meaning, feeling or value). Nuanced images create emotional and spiritual spaces. My purpose is to communicate with those spaces. To see them (being). To experience them by recreating space (doing). Willingness to be empty enhances cycle of communication. Results in an image I can see (havingness). And magick works its spells.
