Real Coney Island Characters

The Fisherman

When we think of Coney Island we tend to think of the freaks & their shows. Usually a summertime day trip for New York City tourists wanting to feast on a famous Nathan's hot dog. Hipsters flock there to film their indie movies and photograph the decay of a treasure that Coney Island once was.

What we fail to think is that Coney Island boasts some of the best characteristics of New York City. On one end of the boardwalk we have Coney Island while at the other we have the Russian speaking Brighton Beach. This story summarizes just that. Portraits of normal people. People who call Coney Island & Brighton Beach home.
