The Organization, Mobilization For Health Care for All, has launched a series of sit-in rallies and acts of civil disobedience at health insurance company offices across the United States. On October 15th eight such protest took place in New York, Washington D.C, Palm Beach, Cleveland, Portland, Los Angeles, Reno, and Phoenix. These images are from the Los Angeles Protest were twelve people were arrested. Chanting "patient not profits", citizens and health care providers attempted to enter the lobby of a Blue Cross office in downtown LA. One of the protesters has gotten national attention when we remained in jail for five days. Sam Pullen, refused to give his information to police and vowed to remain in prison until Blue Cross agreed to hear demands that it stop denying doctor-recommended medical treatment to seriously ill patients. Pullen was ordered released from jail despite his resistance and against his will. The organization is continuing to carry out similar protest around the country.
