Nightly vision

New York - Speed of Light V

I love strawling even "hiking" with my gear through nightly New York. Everything looks and feels different. In many cases less "time stamped". Walking through the Midtown streets that are still pretty busy at night is refreshing. You see things differently and challenges you more to really look for things out of the ordinary. Technically it's a challenge as well, especially when you are not allowed to use a tripod (or you have to go to the Majors office on Times Square to get a license). Playing around with settings, panning and zooming in and out to get special effects is playful but also very frustrating at times. But what would you like better? Watch American Idols or be creative and freeze your butt off (at times)?

For me these evening adventures are always surprising but never boring. Try it, you might get hooked to it.

Great shots. My favorite is the black and white shot.
