From the playful to the lucid

Tropical Circus

From the playful to the lucid 'is a documentary photographer proposed by Moskow, to "map" the traveling circuses of canvas. Initially the state of Rio de Janeiro, his hometown and where he still lives, and in the future (hoping to be soon), throughout the Brazilian territory.

The work started in April 2008 has recorded life in four circuses: Koslov Circus, Circus Tropical, Las Vegas and Circus Circus Baby Show, all photographed on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. In his many visits to these pads, Moskow can live with the circus performers and find out a lot of everyday life, the hardships and joys, way of working and historical references of families who live the art of assembling and disassembling the poles and tarps in various squares, seeking to propagate the cultural values of the world arena.

The so-called "mapping" of the circus, made by the photographer does not refer to exactly the location of the circuses, as they are traveling. But the project aims to document, through photographic essays, which are the circus, how many, how they live, the size of each Co., the attractions that bring the daily life of these people, and especially recover and make public and documented the tradition of this scenic art as old and important to many of the major entertainment attractions that are part of our everyday lives.

The project "From the playful to the lucid" has already borne fruit. Moskow took part in the 2009 edition of the agenda Foto Rio, showing 29 photographs during the month of June, in Castelinho 38 in Santa Teresa. This show earned him featured in the cover story of the magazine "Sunday", the Jornal do Brazil, and so many more references to his work in print media outlets, television and the web.

The next step is the publication of a book with all the stories collected in hundreds of traveling circuses of Brazil. The pure culture of resistance, which persists throughout the lack of incentives by public or private, which shall forward the art for their loved ones and those who intend to live in the fantastical world of clowns, jugglers, acrobats, magicians, dancers and various . A well-drafted document that serves as reference and resource for everyone.
