Red Herrings
By Lise Utne

The uniting feature of these images is the colour red. They were all taken in Norway in the course of 2009.
Norway is experiencing its best herring season since the 1960s: a highly irrelevant fact in this context, of course.
Finding and questioning meaning and significance is a life-long exercise. Maybe the colour red can give us the energy to keep at it.
(PS: "red herring / n / 1. anything that diverts attention from a topic or line of inquiry / 2. (Cookery) a herring cured by salting and smoking." Collins English Dictionary [online: thefreedictionary.com])
