The Art of a Portrait
By Drew Nikonowicz

These portraits have been selected because I believe they alliterate the creativity that I enjoy to impose on my work. I think that there is more to a great portrait than just sharp focus. If the subject is a gymnast then you add that to the story, even if it's just a photo of them for fun. If the person likes to be mysterious you add a strong dramatic light. Sometimes the light has to be used to hide people rather then expose them. Other times the focus needs to be away from their face so that they have something to disappear behind.

You are not limited to one great photo a day. You are not limited to one friend a day either.
