My sister Ditse...

Ditse, as we fondly called her, was named Rosario. Her close friends called her Charing. She is the 2nd of 10 siblings ( I am the 9th) She was born October 7, while I was born October 8.
More or less 16 years my senior.
A very motivated and self sufficient person even at a younger age. As far as I know, she faved the way for us to aim higher. When she can not continue college due to lack of means, she went and tried her luck in Manila. She found a job in a pharmacy store. With determination, she enrolled in college as a working student.
We were always excited whenever she comes home to visit us that my elder sister Ateng sometimes complains why we act like that. Well...whenever she visits, she brought something with her. She brought us the first radio, she brought apples during christmas time, she cut our hair and most importantly, I remember, she thought us to have manners, to always say thank you.
She peeled an orange perfectly for me!
Someone commented that she could have been a millionaire if she is here in the states and I believe it.
She was frugal and thrifty, but very generous. If I can only have some of her traits, I will be good.
A very supertitious person, I would say.She collected lucky charms. As long as it will bring luck, she have it. She got fortune plants, money tree. Lucky gems etc.
She was the most educated person I knew. She got a degree in Education and teached. A cosmetologist, even a dress maker. I would always remember her as a very unassuming person. Who would carry a sack of pork rind in a bus full of people to re-pack and re-sell, especially for a single, attractive lady? or sell peanuts and cigarettes in a street full of tourist passing by? She did. She was not in any way embarrassed or ashamed to be seen like that. It is unbelievable, but she saved enough to use as a down payment for a house just by doing those.
I was thinking that maybe she wished and prayed that if she has to go, it will be like this...quick and easy.
We love you Ditse and this is how I will remember you.
