Apgar/Lake McDonald of Glacier National Park

This part of the park was nice but limited. It has plenty of places to stay but fewer trails of great quality. Although one of the best trails in the park is located just north of McDonald Lodge: Avalanche Gorge. The trail has the beginner level boardwalk which takes you to the gorge and then it decides to go up hill for awhile. At the top is a fantastic lake surrounded by mountains that are spilling over with waterfalls. Still this part of the park is busy with people and traffic. Don't stay too long here.
