Dakota:: Letting a Place Happen II
By Mary Ann Reilly
13 Aug 2010
A year ago I wrote about rereading Kathleen Norris's book, Dakota: A Spiritual Geography and following her advice to let a place a happen. I carried that bit of wisdom with me as I made my way to Tuscany.
This summer, I traveled west to the Dakotas, more specifically South Dakota and the Badlands. I don't think there is any way one can come to be in the presence of that terrain without letting it happen. Control is useless. I found there a pure exchange of energy as I made these images.

And you so beautifully captured that energy. Among the lessons of my nomadic life is the importance of letting it happen.
