Looking Sideways

My husband was telling me today of a photograph that he had seen where someone had rotated it to give a better effect. I forgot all about this until I was looking at the photographs I took down at the beach this evening. I got some lovely close ups of the light illuminating the sea as it swirled and moved. As I was looking at them I got to thinking about the conversation and rotated one of the pictures. It transformed the image from a pretty mundane image of the sun shining on the water to a collection of beautiful hanging golden threads.
I was so impressed that I rotated several other similar images. Each brought its own beauty and you can see so much more in the image than you would if you just saw it as the reflection of the sun on the sea. I love the textures, patterns and light.
Here is a selection of the ones that I took and rotated.
